WES MILLER-HURTS MORE TO STAY-Shed Music SHED460 CD.
[July 2008 Issue]
(Shed Music, Inc., 2600 NE 35th Dr., Unit W, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33308,
www.shedmusicstore.com.)
Wes Miller has been building a reputation as one of the top bluegrass bands in the midwestern United States, and the contents of this latest production certainly proves this. Miller's husky vocal style is ideally suited for a bluegrass setting and stands out on such pieces as his own "Heartbroke And Lonesome," "Little Girl And The Dreadful Snake," and Pete Goble's "Back To Hancock County." Wes' sister, Janet Foster, contributes several pieces including the title song, "Ole Rube" and "Ty's Ferry Bridge." This is hard-driving bluegrass performed at a high-level of perfection and an excellent opportunity to get aquainted with the music of Wes Miller.

Hurts More To Stay
Shed Music
BY DEBORAH WILBRINK
Wes Miller and his Indiana-based band delight traditionalists with a rendering of old favorites like Little Girl and the Dreadful Snake, and Goldrush, along with five new songs. All the instruments contribute but banjo leads from Joel Miller standout. Wes says he loves to play, and you can tell it: he records on bass, lead guitar, mandolin, lead vocal, and changing harmony parts. Changing Seasons could be a country hit reflecting on two brothers’ younger days, but sorry, pretty boys, no drums, it’s pure bluegrass! Sorrowful love, and a new song about an old hound, Ole Rube, from Wes’s sister, Janet Foster, provide a range of emotions. Already playing "52 weeks a year," Miller’s new representation by Lance LeRoy, and the smooth sound should earn him sure footing on the bluegrass buckboard. BMP

The Wes Miller Band has been added to The Lancer Agency's famous artist roster

April 2, 2008
Shed Music recording artist Wes Miller is pleased to announce The Wes Miller Band is now represented by Lance LeRoy. The Lancer Agency is one of Nashville's, if not the country's, most respected Bluegrass booking agencies.
There's no doubt about it, Lance LeRoy is one of the most influential "behind the scenes" figures in bluegrass music. He began his career in 1969 as manager and agent for singer Lester Flatt and went on to form the Lancer Agency which was one of the first booking agencies in the genre. In addition to Flatt, The Lancer Agency handled Jimmy Martin, Bluegrass Cardinals, Del McCoury, The New Coon Creek Girls, and the Johnson Mountain Boys.
LeRoy in 1985 initiated and organized meetings of industry leaders resulting in the establishment of the International Bluegrass Music Association.
Today Lance represents great artists like Bobby Osborne, Jimmy C. Newman, Everett Lilly & The Lilly Mountaineers, Steve Helton & The Flint River Boys, Mike Snider, Paul Williams & The Victory Trio, The Tennessee Gentleman, The Overall Brothers, Fast Forward, The Village Singers, Norman Wright & The Travelers, The Kati Penn Band, and now too The Wes Miller Band.
"It's because of Lance's rich history and the fact that Lance got really excited about our sound and music that I'm so proud to be on board with The Lancer Agency. Lance LeRoy is a Bluegrass icon. He loves our music and we love him." said singer, guitarist and band leader Wes Miller.
LeRoy said, "When Shed sent me Wes's CDs and a video of a recent live show I immediately liked what I was hearing. Real traditional Bluegrass music. These guys are the real thing and the perfect festival band."
A sample CD for booking consideration for The Wes Miller Band is available. Contact Lance LeRoy, The Lancer Agency, PO Box 160, Hendersonville TN 37077. (615) 822-0222

We've worked all summer and part of the fall getting this new CD ready for you.
The CD and MP3 downloads are available now at ShedMusicStore.com
There are 5 new original cuts, 3 of them written by my sister Janet Foster (Hurts More to Stay, Ole Rube & Ty's Ferry Bridge.) Another written by Wes Miller bandmemeber, Ben Blanton (Changing Seasons,) and another by Kenny Baldwin and Wes Miller (Heartbroke & Lonesome.)
There is a mix of new bluegrass songs along with some traditional tunes that you probably haven't heard for a long time.
I hope you really enjoy this new CD, "Hurts More to Stay" as much as we enjoyed recording it for you.
Happy listening,
Wes Miller
